We built HONE because we couldn't stop thinking about what was in our food.

The average person uses a plastic cutting board every day without a second thought. Then the research started coming in. A single plastic cutting board sheds up to 50.7 grams of microplastic particles into your food every year. Hundreds of particles per knife stroke. Invisible, unavoidable, and accumulating.

We looked for a better option. Wood absorbs bacteria and requires constant maintenance. Composite boards are just plastic in disguise. Nothing on the market was built to actually solve the problem.

So we built HONE. 304 food-grade stainless steel — the same material used in hospital surgical environments and Michelin-star kitchens. Non-porous. Bacteria-resistant. Zero microplastics. Dishwasher safe. And with an L-shaped counter lip that locks onto any edge so it never moves while you work.
